Five Wireless Accelerometer Starter Kit

The Watchdog™ starter kit allows new users to
familiarize themselves with the Maintenance Watchdog™ system including data
integrity, wireless environment, ease of use, installation, data management,
and analysis tools. With the addition of a user supplied laptop the
Watchdog™ kit provides a complete stand alone wireless system that enables
users to begin collecting and analyzing vibration data. Data can be easily
viewed and analyzed using the integrated data analysis software tools
provided with the Watchdog™ kit.
The
Maintenance Watchdog™ Starter Kit contains everything required to start up a
wireless vibration surveillance program. The kit includes five wireless
accelerometers, Network Access Point, Ethernet crossover cable,
configuration and analysis software, and phone support. By connecting a
WindowsXP PC to the network access point, the user can install, configure,
and analyze vibration data from five wireless accelerometers. Simply locate
the Network Access Point within 250 feet of the accelerometers. Connecting
the user supplied laptop to the Network Access Point using the Ethernet
crossover cable enables the user to configure the accelerometers over the
wireless network (e.g. 800 line FFT, 90 KHz Fmax, every 45 minutes). Once
configured the laptop can be disconnected and the Network Access Point and
accelerometers can be left unattended for hours, days or weeks. Vibration
records are stored in nonvolatile RAM in the Network Access Point. Upon
returning with a laptop, the user can download all the historical data for
analysis. The system can then be easily and rapidly moved to monitor another
machine. The Watchdog™ Kit can be expanded to handle larger and more complex
systems by simply adding additional accelerometers.
Applications Include
- Motor / Pump Configurations
- Machining Centers
- Hazardous Locations
- Lockout-Tagout Locations
- Mobile Infant Mortality

Expansion
Adding Accelerometers:
A single Network Access Point can handle hundreds of accelerometers. By
adding accelerometers to the already existing wireless network, the
Watchdog™ kit system can be expanded to cover a large number of machines.
Distances between accelerometers and Network Access Points can be
significantly extended by introducing battery powered Repeaters into the
system.
Adding Network Access Points:
A cellular grid of coverage can be obtained by adding network access points.
Up to 128 network access points can be used together to provide overlapping
coverage for wireless accelerometers. Accelerometers automatically route
information through the best access point and will dynamically change
routing if conditions require.
Networking The Access Points:
The network access points can be operated directly on an enterprise network,
by properly configuring the IP settings. This eliminates the need to connect
a laptop to the Network Access Point to download data. Networked access
points automatically download data as it arrives so it is always available
for analysis.
Third Party Interfaces:
Tools have been provided to allow users to easily export data into Entek’s
and DMSI condition based monitoring software. Additionally, the Maintenance
Watchdog™ software allows users to export the data in a text file that can
be easily imported into a spreadsheet or other analysis tools. Data can be
extract manually and automatically by setting up an executable batch file.
